Donations thru Venmo Now Accepted

The Friends of Onaway State Park is now happy to accept donations via Venmo. Please be sure to include what you would like your donation applied to — past donations have supported the campground playground, lower bathroom rejuvenation, kids activities, Morgan's Well, and native flower beds.

The Historic 1935 Stone Campground Toilet by Ralph B. Herrick

If you have had an opportunity to grab a camping spot on the lower level of Onaway State Park, then you have seen this building. Built in 1935/1936, this stone campground toilet was designed by Ralph B. Herrick. It is believed this structure is the last of its type by this artist still standing in the Michigan State Park system.

Native American Awareness Days: A Cherished Park Tradition

Held in cooperation with the Friends of Onaway State Park, Native American Awareness Days bring families together for sacred fire teachings, dreamcatcher workshops, Grandmother Moon Drummers, rock painting, and evening campfire storytelling with s'mores.

FOOSP Geocaching Trail: 8 Hidden Caches Placed

FOOSP placed eight geocaches throughout Onaway State Park with permission from the Michigan DNR. Titled FOOSP #1 through #8, these caches lead adventurers along scenic outcroppings and trail lookouts across the 158-acre park.
